The Rudd / Gallagher Smart Scale indicator range is now the most advanced on the market, with a strengthened robust design, backlit screens, Bluetooth wireless connections and a host of extra features to make weighing sessions hassle free. We now have a range of four models covering non-EID entry level (W210) through to the complete livestock manager (TSI) ensuring we have the right solution for your farm.

The SMART Scale range of indicators is simple, tough, innovative and reliable, and provides consistently accurate readings. Our scale is 99% accurate - we allow a 1% error margin for the movement of the animal on the scale. The indicator housing is "dust & water proof", UV stabilised and has an internal battery, which gives about 8 hours of weighing per session. The scale can also work from 220V and 12V power. It has a large digital display, which is easy to read from a distance of about 5 - 6m.

The indicator measures the weight in the following increments:

0 - 50kg		100g increments (fine mode setting)
0 - 50kg		200g increments (other settings)
50 - 200kg		500g increments
200 - 500kg		1kg increments
500 - 2000kg		2kg increments

EID TAGS AND SCANNERS

The tags supplied are compatible with ISO 11784 and 11785 (International Standards for Electronic Livestock ID).


The tags are supplied with a male button tag, which is the same diameter as the female electronic tag - the larger the tag, the greater the risk the tag will catch on something. Therefore the risk of loss rate will increase with the tag size.

A button tag (such as the EID tag) will have a loss rate of less than 0.1%. (A larger panel tag could be as high as 3%). Other factors influencing retention are:

• Correct application and location in the ear
• Conditions of farm and grazing environment

• Alpha-numeric-keypad and large screen for quick and easy data entry;
• Analyse data and upload to your PC in three easy steps using the Animal Performance Software (APS) included;
• Animal notes can be set to appear when the animal is next scanned;
• Numeric, text, date and pick-list type traits can be entered e.g. entering an observation using the free text entry field;
